Weren’t we lucky with the weather? Holidays, sunshine, whatever next?

Well where to start?

I guess with ever popular Pool Parties! There weren’t just three but four, and had the kids had their own way, there would have been one every single day! Children of all ages always love this activity. Simply messing about in the warm water, with slides, toys, each other and of course crepes with chocolate sauce! It doesn’t get much better.

Nature Walks to Oliver Land and back via Carn Barges and Cycle Tours to Sancreed, though not as well attended went really well and were thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.

Then it was The Duck Race on Saturday, and what a good turn out! After the three preliminary heats the final few fought it out to the bitter end and the elusive trophy. The ducks raced from the Old Mill right downstream and out to the beach! In first place was Harvey, in second, Tom and in third, Owen – all winning chocolate eggs. Countless cakes and drinks were consumed by all and between sales of that, plus tickets for all the races, £125 was raised for The Village Hall. Special thanks goes to Sally for organizing the event, Jelka for allowing a free flow of people through her kitchen to make tea and coffee and putting up the stall in her driveway, all the bakers, Sally, Jelka, Molly, Grace and many more, Maria for helping with everything, serving guests, putting up bunting, Colin for heading the waders, Judith and Sue for washing up, the list goes on and on! Congratulations!

Finally it was The Easter Egg Hunt. After hours of careful planning, hiding eggs first thing in the morning to avoid sabotage from foxes and badgers and scorching sun, it all seemed to be over in the blink of an eye. Everyone started off the trail at a hundred miles an hour and all you could hear were screams of delight across the valley and seas of chocolate covered faces emerging from bushes. Local kids and hotel guests flooded the paths from reception, down to the cove, through the bluebell woods, to the Old Mill, then onto The Millennium Triangle! And if that wasn’t enough everyone went back to the hotel for a Pool Party….all you could hear was Under, Over, Pepsi Cola Eat my Shorts being chanted continually! Happy Easter from Lamorna and well done to everyone involved for making it the best to date!!!
